This is so lovely. I can resonate with so much as a fellow mum of two girls, writer, photographer and one who always craved being a mum. And I laughed about the toilet scene - how she wants company, that is so my girls as well! This was utterly beautiful.
I felt this so deep I could have written it. It took me until my babies stopped napping to realize that I needed that time to come back to myself. Can’t wait to read more of your work, this is absolutely beautiful 💛
That was incredibly beautiful and poignant and brought me back to some of my special and sweet mom moments…they can be both painful and wonderful because you can miss it so much. I was away from them alot….maybe too much because of work which was my art but I know it was important to do something that was just for me..my growth and my identity outside of motherhood. So wonderful to read this Kaitlin.
I’m so glad I happened upon your post- this is my favorite thing I’ve read in a while. Your words and experience are beautiful, thank you for sharing. 🤍
Solo-parenting three littles under 10, in a small cottage on a lake, and the summer hours are long, but the days are short. Breathing in these similar moments, and soaking in allllll the bits. Thanks for the reminder🙏🏼
When your book(s) are published, I hope you’ll record the audio yourself. I love reading your writing, and listening to it in your voice is so special!
I clung to every single beautiful word of this.

Astoria! This is so kind. Thank you. I’m so glad you’re here!
so, so beautiful.
I gifted myself a listen this morning. Closed my eyes and let the warm scenes play out before me. Beautifully done, dear friend 💛
